About
I had never seen or spoken to Ronny before making this project, even though he is a relative of mine. He’s my grandfather’s cousin, and it was through him that I got in touch. I was warmly welcomed at his apartment, which is located next to the Scheldt River in Rupelmonde.
Ronny told and showed me a lot about the Scheldt and Rupelmonde. He had countless stories about his time working at the Boel shipyard in Temse. This recurring element convinced me to make a small documentary series about him.
Because amidst all his stories and anecdotes, I saw a rather bizarre but unique man and that’s what I captured.
